Eckhart Tolle is well known as best-selling author of, The power of Now, and A New Earth: Awakening to your life's purpose.

Eckhart Tolle was born Ulrich Leonard Tolle in Germany on Febuary 16, 1948.






Tolle had an unhappy childhood growing up in in post war Germany. His parents would argue frequently, and eventually separated.

Eckhart moved to Spain with his father at the age of 13, and self-taught himself at home reading books on topics he found interesting, including various languages.

He moved to England at the age of 19 and taught German, and Spanish. He was still troubled by depression until the age of 29 when had a spiritual awakening after contemplating who he was.

He then went onto become a consular, and spiritual teacher before becoming a best selling author.
